It is not known exactly what causes hemorrhoids and their symptoms, but there are many theories as to what causes them.  If you need hemorrhoid help,  you are probably wondering, what did I do to get these lovely things? Am I just unlucky?! Well, no, you probably will recognize some of these causes in yourself:

* inadequate intake of fiber

*prolonged sitting on the toilet

*chronic constipation

*pregnancy

*standing for long periods of time

*obesity

*anal sex

*aging-weakening of structure of rectum over time

*bouts of diarrhea

*using laxatives

*sitting for too long
These are just a few of the things that can cause hemorrhoids. While you are looking for a hemorrhoid cure, and you are doing any of the above things (besides aging, of course!) STOP immediately so you don’t aggravate your hemorrhoids anymore.

Need hemorrhoid help?

First, it helps to know what kind of hemorrhoids you have.

Types of Hemorrhoids: An Overview

You have veins surrounding your rectum and anus. One group makes up the internal hemorrhoidal veins, the others are external.
When there is too much pressure on either one of these groups, it causes hemorrhoids.

The Internal Type of Hemorrhoids

Signs of the hemorrhoid symptoms include usually only bright-red blood on your stool, on toilet paper, or in the toilet bowl. You usually can’t see them because they are internal (they may bulge after an extended time) and they don’t usually hurt unless they get infection.

The External Type of Hemorrhoids

External hemorrhoids often cause severe pain, and bleed easily. You may also suffer itching from these.
Most external hemorrhoids can be treated with natural hemorrhoid cures. However, if either of your hemorrhoid symptoms because serves, you will need to go to a doctor and have hemorrhoid surgery if you don’t find a way to get them to go away! It’s important to take some kind of action to treat them.

You need hemorrhoid help, but you probably also want to know about prevention. If you are worried about developing hemorrhoids, or you want to prevent them from recurring, luckily there are things you can do:

1.Exercise more, and get to a healthy weight.

2. Stay away from processed foods. Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. I like to mix fruit with greens in a smoothie-the fruit makes the greens taste better, and you get all of your daily servings at one time!

3. Drink more water.

4. Avoid sitting or standing for too long.

5.  Don’t strain when you go to the bathroom.

If you follow these guidelines, you most likely won’t need hemorrhoid help.

The first time you get that trademark hemorrhoid itching and pain, is not a day you will soon forget. You need hemorrhoid help, but if you are like me, you put off doing anything about it, and just hope and pray it will go away on its own. I felt overwhelmed by all of the different treatment options out there, but knew I wanted to stay on the more natural side of treatment. I wasn’t really looking for a hemorrhoid cure-just some relief. I found so many hemorrhoid creams, and magic pills that just didn’t seem to work or make sense. I decided in order to find what I needed, I was going to have to learn first what hemorrhoids were. To me, knowledge is power, and I was trying to solve a problem without fully understanding what was wrong! So, this is what I learned:

Hemorrhoids are basically just swollen veins in a very inconvenient place- the anal canal. They can either be internal, or external. Pressure on the pelvic wall, such as from constipation or diarrhea, are often the main causes. This is why many women get hemorrhoids when they are pregnant. Of course, being overweight can also contribute to causing problems as well.

Not everybody experiences pain, but most people will see some blood on their toilet paper, or in the toilet. This can be alarming, but it’s usually not serious.  If you have never been treated for hemorrhoids before, it’s important to go to the doctor to make sure it’s not serious though. Don’t be embarrassed like me, and just get checked out. If  you are sure it’s hemorrhoids though, by all means try a natural cure of hemorrhoids first. Most external hemorrhoids can be treated at home. If you do nothing though, you may need surgery, and nobody wants that! If you need hemorrhoid help, the best thing to do is to educate yourself on your options and understand what hemorrhoids are.
